The Alter of Marinover shlita (Ish Echod) would say: “'לא אשלחך כי אם ברכתני' - After Yaakov fought with the angel and won, it said, ‘Let me go.’ Yaakov replied, ‘Not until you bentch me.’ Why was it so important that it bentch Yaakov then?
