Parshas Tetzaveh (Zachor) 5786

R’ Chanoch Henach Hakohen of Aleksander zt”l would say: “'ושכנתי בתוך בני ישראל והייתי להם לאלקים' - When I was young I spent time with a person whom everyone considered to be very great. But the longer I knew him, the more I noticed his faults and shortcomings. Later, when I was a little older, I traveled to Kotzk and attached myself to the Rebbe there. I found the exact opposite to be true. The longer I was in his presence, the more I came to appreciate his greatness. This is what is meant by the posuk, ‘I will dwell among the Children of Israel and I will be to them G-d.’ The closer one draws near to G-dliness, the stronger the desire is to cleave to Him.”

A Wise Man would say: “People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to the rest of us who actually do."
