Lubavitcher Rebbe, R’ Menachem Mendel Schneerson zt”l (Likutei Sichos) would say “'זאת תהיה תורת המצורע' - The condition of the Jewish people in which we now find ourselves at the very end of the exile and just prior to the Redemption is that of a ‘Metzorah.’ Outwardly, it appears as if the Jewish people are suffering from a variety of ailments, but our inner essence is actually pristine, having already been completely purified over the course of generations. The only thing left to be refined before Moshiach’s revelation is our ‘outer layer.’ All other prerequisites for the Final Redemption are already in place. May it happen immediately.”
