Parshas Behar-Bechukosai 5785

Reisher Rav, R’ Aharon Levine zt”l (Hadrash V’Haiyun) would say: “'ושבתה הארץ שבת לה'' - Hashem gave the Jews Shabbos as a time for spiritual rejuvenation. For one who spends the weekdays immersed in work, Shabbos is a day of Shabbos L’Hashem - devoted to prayer, Torah study, and becoming closer to Hashem, not merely a time of leisure or rest from the hard work of the week. The Torah teaches us that the year of shemitah should be like Shabbos - a year devoted to study and prayer, enabling one to come closer to Hashem.”

A Wise Man would say: “Push your boundaries beyond the ordinary; be that ‘extra’ in ‘extraordinary.’”
