Parshas Vayeitzai 5786

ree

R’ Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev zt”l (Kedushas Levi) would say: “'ויצא יעקב מבאר שבע' - Why does the Torah say ‘Vayeitzei Yaakov’ - it should say ‘Vayeired’ - he went down, as Eretz Yisroel is the highest point, and when he left, he went down? Rashi says Yaakov took the beauty and holiness of E”Y with him, thus, even though he went down, since he took the kedusha with him, it was not considered going ‘down’ to charan.”

A Wise Man would say: “If you feel pain, thank Hashem! It is a sure sign that you are alive.”
