Pupa Rav, R’ Yosef Greenwald zt”l (Vayechi Yosef) would say:
“It should have first said, 'ודברת בם' - ‘you shall speak of them’ and then 'ושננתם לבניך' - ‘you shall teach them to your children’? No. If you want to teach Torah to your children and inspire them to study diligently, the way to do this 'ודברת בם' - when they see YOU studying Torah in the house or during your busy day, they will be encouraged to do likewise. Parents must always remember that they are a model for their children and that their children try to emulate them at all times.”
