R’ Simcha Bunim of P’shischa zt”l would say: “'תמים תהיה עם ה' אלקיך' - We are commanded to be ‘whole’. Is it all that difficult to put on an act and appear to be 'תמים' - ‘perfect’ and ‘whole’ in other people’s eyes? No, it really isn’t too hard. That is why we must remember, 'עם ה' אלקיך' - it must be done ‘with Hashem your G-d’ - your uprightness and honesty should be genuine and not just for show.”
