Chacham Rabbeinu Chayim ibn Attar zt”l (Ohr HaChayim) would say: “'זאת עבדת בני קהת באהל מועד' - By Bnei K’has, the posuk states 'לעשות מלאכה' - ‘to do the work’, whereas by Bnei Gershon and Bnei Merari, the Torah says, 'לעבוד עבודה' - ‘to perform service’. Why is the language changed? Bnei K’has carried the Aron and Chazal teach us that the Aron, ‘carried those who carried it.’ As a result, there was no actual avodah ‘work’ to be done while carrying it, rather they simply performed their chosen melacha. On the other hand, Bnei Gershon and Bnei Merari literally carried all the many keilim, and they actually performed the service meant for them.”
A Wise Man would say: “At some point, someone is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.”
